Might be funny to see reactions...A quick scan by a cager, the word 'Polite' can look like the word Police.....

Perhaps, if I could carry a side arm....

High viz ain't a bad idea, little to flashy for my taste.

The thought of someone driving up to close to read what it says could be a problem.

Here in California it would need to be in several languages. So many that reading it would be confusing. We don't need the drivers confused anymore than they are now.

Possibly with a different message...  "See me now and you won't see me later" or some other attempt at a cleverly disguised threat. I think we have the makings of an interesting thread...

What would you put on the back of this thing if you had to wear one?  :bad: :diablo: :hi:  :bomb: ...  lots of choices.

WOW!  :yahoo:

In spite of the fact that I am a HUGE advocate of the pointlessness of high vis gear and documentend lack of impact it has on driver awareness...

I WOULD WEAR THAT!  If only for the fact that people would read polite and "see" police...

novaraptor

I thought I read an article about that sometime ago that found that particular vest simply PO'd most cagers.. I'll see if I can find it...

I couldn't find the particular article I was thinking of, but there has been alot of discussion on those vests since 2012, mostly in the UK. Seems to have started as horse riding wear, then moved to bicyclists, then to motorcycles. Would I want one? Nope.. But if I had to wear one by law, I would probably put the dictionary definitions of "polite" under the word. Never miss an opportunity to educate a bad driver..

It looks very European Police.
I think if I saw someone riding with it in Wyoming, I would not think it was official garb, I would think it was someone wearing a Euro Police vest for fun.  But it would be eye-catching for sure.

The first time I wore a HI-VIZ vest more people pulled out in front of me than I ever had before. I think they were able to judge my speed better, or think they could.
Would I wear this one? Not to bike night.
