Me and the missus got up early today and decided to go for a ride around some of the mountains in the Brisbane area, namely Mt Glorious, Samford, Woodford etc..... to give the FJ a good run.

After lunch at Woodford, we headed towards Kilcoy via Villeneuve and came across a top box lying on the edge of the road with the contents scattered everywhere, so did a u turn to find a wallet, phone, cigarettes etc... laying on the road.

Now I could've picked the wallet and phone up and did a runner, but I'm not that type of person, so we picked everything up, checked the wallet for ID, checked the phone, and put everything back and waited for the owner to return.

After about 45min, numerous cars had passed and even a Harley rider slowed down to check if we were ok, we were starting to work out what to do if he didn't return, when next thing we saw 2 bikes coming, one a cruiser, the other one a tourer, riding slowly and when they got close I pointed to the top box. Well you should have heard the big sigh of relief from the bloke on a FJR1300 when he saw it, he was just about crying from relief. After stating that we found it laying there and collected the contents, he gave me the biggest hug and for a minute thought he was going to kiss me, thanked us profusely because he didn't think there were any honest people left in the world. He wasn't worried about the money in the wallet, but all his personal details, credit cards, licence, etc... that he thought he lost.

After continually asking for our details to repay us somehow, which I wouldn't give, I just said don't worry about it mate, if the same thing happened to me then I would hope someone would do the same for me.

I believe in Karma, you do the right thing for someone, then someone will do the right thing to you.

Life isn't about having the best, but about making the best of what you have...

Brilliant. Yep you don't here of much honesty anymore. Similar thing happened to my wife and I many years ago   A woman driving ,just come out of a shopping centre with her wallet on the roof. Made a turn and it came off. We stopped, picked it up and gave chase. Ended up having to look her address up. Got to her house and she to had just realized she had no wallet and was in panick mode. Her parents come out and couldn't thank us enough and insisted on giving us a bottle of galliano. Nice feeling being honest. I've always been brought up with the moto HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY NO MATTER WHAT THE CIRCUMSTANCES ARE. I bring my kid pup with the same morals.

Awesome! Got to look out for each other. I ran out of fuel on the fj the other day, started pushing it down the freeway and 4 people stopped to help. One guy had fuel and i was on my way again, great times.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely, in an attractive & well preserved body...but rather to slide in sideways, body completely worn out and and with your last dying breath screaming, "HOOOYA LIFE, lets try that again"!!!
