hi all,  just wondering if there's a general rule of thumb when bleeding the front brakes?
left or right 1st? or doesnt it matter,

thanks in advance, ken

Capn Ron

Wouldn't really matter if you did left or right first.  The split happens behind the fairing and the hoses are equal length.  Speed bleeders are your friends...Pump the daylights out of one side until all the air is out, then move to the other side and do the same.  Once you're satisfied with the second side, go back to the first...and then back to the second.  Brake fluid is cheap...and a great brake feel is priceless.

If yours is a non-ABS model, the bleeding should be dead-simple, but would benefit from a vacuum bleeder on the caliper end to deal with all the extracted fluids.

I'm curious too. When I bled my brakes, the anti-dive was dry too. At first I tried to bleed the whole side from the anti-dive and it was slow going. I had to go back and bleed the caliper first, then the A-D and there still a little spongy. I was going to bleed them again, I figured to let the bubbles settle out.

thanks capn ron,    untill recently the fj was my modernist bike and the others  had single calipers,    ive bleed them all before on several occasions and have found it a simple job,   ive done the fj before aswell and its works as it should but couldnt remember what side i did 1st,   now i have another bike with twin calipers up front i thought i'd double check to see if there was a sequence,  , so thanks again,   ken
