Welcome Glenn, might check here to see if any members near you registered. https://www.zeemaps.com/map?group=724879#

The Aussi FJ rally is coming up, good chance to meet a few other FJ owners. They have a few arriving from the states and another from Canada. Here is the link to that post. http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=9788.0

The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

Welcome Glenn! I was in your lovely town in 1968 for Anzac day and have fond memories of it.  On the carbs,  like FJmonkey said there are a lot of members in OZ that might give you a hand. They are a great group.

The carbs are not to hard to balance yourself if need be.  A commercial tool can be bought for less than 100.00 or a home made one for less than 15 or 20.00 U.S..  They are easy to adjust.   Doing your own maint. has it's rewards and there is a lot of help here to guide you through.
Cheers George

G'day Glenn, welcome aboard, Queensland member numbers are steadily growing, must be something with FJ's and Queenslanders . :scratch_one-s_head: It's not hard to balance carbs once you've got the tool, thought about buying one myself (mine can do with a touch up)but keep buying other things for the bike instead.

Once you start modifying these things its hard to stop, there's so many upgrades available .

Mate, if it will make it to the Anniversary Dinner as is, we will do it there. Might be able to fit it in before then. Xray might chime in here, will make some phone calls.

I'm getting in a bit late here, but guess whose bike Glenn ended up buying? (Hint Hint General !)

Anyway, the weeks are getting short but if anyone wanted to have a short half day or full day pre Jindabyne trip Manshed day to do last minute jobs, (like carb balancing) I'm happy to host again.
