With the cold weather set in and only periodic warm days to ride. Some powder coating is in order.

I had my set of RPM Vibranators done.

I also did the rear GSXR750 wheel to match the color of the front FZR750R wheel

Got the wheel installed and ready to ride in the morning. Temps are suppose to be near 60 degrees in the afternoon.

I like to identify the White and Silver colors as the stealth mode colors, but others (our resident Power Ranger included  :flag_of_truce:) have made many references to this color scheme being theft deterrent colors.

Fred, the Ambulance :empathy3: riders apparently think the preferred red/silver combo is actually less desireable, hence the theft deterrence.   :rofl2:

The Red and White are easy to identify as ambulance colors, the other colors not so much. Not sure how the theft deterrent got started but much like the Red Power Ranger moniker it stuck. Other than a Pink stripe the other years are left in obscurity, just plane old FJ's... Boring...  :bomb:

Unlike other model specific forums, we for the most part are a friendly group and as such, the in jest banter is there.

The Red Power Ranger moniker, (I believe it may have something to do with some forgotten boots). The Pink Stripers, The lovely design engineers of the early 90's. Do we all remember the purplish pink Kawasaki ZX600 and the pastel purple and grey Suzuki RF900? The 89' Theft deterrent colored FJ has been embraced, at least by me. I do remember as a new member I made a reference as the colors being stealth mode and was told that I got it wrong. That the White/Silver is Theft Deterrent Colored.

The Red and White are easy to identify as ambulance prototype FJs whose highest and best use was to perfect the later models colors, the other colors not so much. Not sure how the theft deterrent got started but much like the Red Power Ranger moniker it stuck. Other than a Pink stripe the other years are left in obscurity, just plane old FJ's... Boring...  :bomb:

The 'theft-deterrent' descriptor was coined by an (apparently myopic) and jealous prototype owner back on the old Netpath FJ list, IIRC.
