Hello everyone im a new guy on the block.  I have been a wrench for a few years now got my first fj powered unit 2 years ago very pleased

Welcome ! Lots of good members here. If you can let us know where you are located and also for trouble shooting efforts sometimes it helps to put the year of your FJ down in the signature line. Tons of good information here and lots of rallies during the summer months. Check out the files section and rally video's.
Because of the worldwide sales of the FJ's there is usually someone on here 24/7.

Welcome Mr. Radian, many here wrench on their FJ's, mostly because they refuse (lack of trust to do it right) to let anyone else touch their bike. With the help, support and knowledge of this group I have expanded the list of things I can do on my FJ. I used to pay for the oil and valve service, mount and balance the tires, rebuild forks, brakes. Now I do it all, hell, I even installed an 88 FZR front wheel to have 17 x 3.5 on the front. A 92 GSXR 750 wheel to have 17 x 5.5 on the rear. Don't be shy.... So what year, and what have you done to it?

Well ya see i dont actually have a true fj.. i built my bike from two halves of two great bikes.. imo.. two 1986 yamahas one yx600 one fj1200 lots of custom work but i tried to stay with my roots on this bike

Now that's different !!! how'd you go shoehorning that motor into that frame, would've been a tight squeeze I bet.

We didn't get the yx600 in Australia, we got the Xj 650 instead, great little bike with shaft drive as well I think. More photo's and info on the fit out would be great. Oh, and welcome to the forum as well.

actually tony the swap was not that bad, the gas tank fits down into the dips in the valve covers.. fits like a man with 5 penises pants

That's a new way of looking at things. I like the overall effect visually, but can't help wondering about the handling. The specs of this machine kinda fly in the face of what just about every other fjmodder aims for. Cool to be different though.

OH but thats my favorite part! by doing custom spring mods, thicker oil, air valves on forks, and progressive rear springs i have been able to maintain the super slick handling of the lightweight radian with literally more than double the horsepower i absolutely love this bike.. it was a lot of work but in the end it was so worth it, thank you as well andy i have always strived to keep differences in all of my bikes

Welcome to the group Blake.  The Radian was an under appreciated bike. The 700 fazer garnered all the attention. Very nice looking job on mating the FJ to the YX.

At this year's east coast fall rally, Ducati Dave rode a Radian that was leaking oil like a sieve -right onto the back tire!  It did not seem to bother him though, at least as long as we road through 'normal twisty' roads...  Only before we got to the 'really twisty stuff' did he pull onto some dirt and spin the back tire and lean the bike from side to side while doing so -to scrub the oil off you see.

He did it so nonchalantly I was amazed.  The bike really seemed at home in the twisty stuff. 

Welcome here, your Radian with an FJ heart is well executed.

inside joke....my apologies.......I saw you in the dowser under some power lines......I have been without power for the past 9 days and saw your profile photo...and when I did ...the first thing I thought of was ...man...if that guy was here he could help clear the downed debris and I could get my power restored........that's it brother...
