Cree spotlights?

Hello,

I do a bit of night riding through the country side and we have these big bloody animals hopping all over the place, Kangaroos, 300 kilo's of solid muscle.  Taste pretty good too!

Anyway, I was thinking of buying some cree spotlights, like the ones in the picture.  I can spend $60 for a chinese made pair, or $120 for a chinese made pair.

Are others using these spotlights, are they any good?  These ones are rated at 1000 lumens.  Any thoughts?

Cheers, Gareth

I have some "bicycle" cree T6 headlamps on order from DX.com right now.
They are rated at 12w which I believe, and 1800 lumens of which I'm very sceptical.
Anyhow, once they arrive, I'll let you know how I like them and what the beam pattern is.

My plan is to wire them in series so I can use power from the bike without any voltage adjustment.
They are intended to work with those 18500 (??) 3.7v rechargeable batteries, but can be used at up to about 8v, so they should be fine in series on the FJ.  Still not sure where or how I'll mount them.

G'day,

Talk about good timing!
I would be very interested to hear from you about the lights you have ordered.  As always I am fairly sceptical about most things on ebay, but often you can save big dollars on exactly the same products, just being sold in different countries.

I have a cree flashlight, runs on 4 AAA batteries, and is almost better than my headlight!

I shall eagerly await you email....

Cheers, Gareth

I have a Cree 3-way headlight (low, medium, high) on my mountain bike and I really don't think it's a good fit for a motorcycle. The light is plenty bright when you're moving at 10 MPH but certainly not at 60.
