Picking up a new to me 84 FJ1100 this weekend.
Bone stock, 14 original owner miles.

Planning on swapping out the forks, wheels, and swing arm.
I have a couple rolling chassis' from some other past projects on hand, as well as a bunch of parts.

I was hoping that someone has a link to some measurements on the FJ's.
Fork lengths, swing arm mounting widths, steering stem diameters/lengths.

I have a buddy that owns a machine shop, so if I need bushings/spacers etc made, wont be an issue.
I did notice after searching around the last couple days that a VFR1000 sprocket is a direct bolt on, and has good spacing.
Lots of good info on here. Some nice projects people have going as well.

I hope its well received that I want to build a stripped down, naked, updated FJ......

Oh it will be received well, especially if you include some pictures.  We love pictures.  Welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the Group! you suffer from an affliction we call Moditis. apparently you have it bad,
planning the mods before you get the Bike.  I didn't contract the disease until I joined
this forum. when I first bought my FJ I thought it was perfect. wasn't until I got on here I realized
how imperfect it was :dash1:

all kidding aside, this is a great place to get some great advice. no need to recreate the wheel persay
as all the mods you are contemplating have been done here so if you have any questions ask.

This year is the 30th anniversary of the bike you are picking up. with only 14 miles it sounds like a good
candidate to leave stock. ill trade you my92 for it, you can hack it up.

check out the Modifications and files sections. there are many well documented build threads
and most have pictures!

It seems like you know which end of a wrench you hold on to. Welcome to the asylum.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.
