Hi,
I may have a chance to get a Corbin seat from an FJ1100 for a really good price. I saw that all the seats are the same but when I checked on compatibility they all had the same part # except for 1993 which is the year of my bike. It seems that 85 - 92 has the following part number for the seat 3CV-24730-00-00 and the 93 has 3CV-24730-40-00. Are they all the same and the part number just changed slightly for the 93 model year or is there a difference. I have had the 86 then changed to the 93 and they do seem to be exactly the same from my memory of the 86.

Thanks,
Mark

The seat pans are all the same for 84'-93'.

I know the shape of the seat was redesigned for the 88' (Europe/Australia only) and continued to the 89' and subsequent. A quote from Rider Magazine, March 1989. "The passenger section is flatter now to keep co-riders from sliding forward during braking."

I wish mine had a bit more length in the front bucket. I'm not that big, but the ole nut sack likes to breathe a bit more.

Well I bought the seat for 50.00$ It needs to be recovered but I think I know a place unless someone knows a place that would sell a kit that correctly fits the Corbin. Crbin charges a fortune to recover it. 75% of the total cost of a new seat, that's insane. Well here are some pictures of the one I bought. I noticed that the pads or dampers on the bottom of the seat are worn out a bit. Does anyone know if the OEM pads fit correctly on the Corbin. I ask because I see that the pads are installed with rivets.

Thanks,
Mark

My suggestion is to take it to a automotive/marine upholstery shop. Ask them to use the old cover as a pattern and they usually will have a large selection of different material types and colors.

I second this suggestion. Do you ever go to Car Shows, or know of a Hot Rod Club, or a Cruise-In, in your area? Theses are great places to ask about a high quality upholstery shop.

Good luck

Hi,
I checked out some upholstery shops in my city and they are charging outragious prices ranging from $300.00 - $650.00. That's totally insane. I would tell them that all I need was a new cover not even installed and they would knock off maybe 30.00$. Would anyone know of a place on the east coast preferably in Canada that would do the job for a good price. I pretty much need a new cover.

Thanks,
Mark

There is a biker leather shop here in Wichita that sews patches on leathers that I have dealt with for a few things. I will check with them and let you know what I find out,

My only suggestion is to locate a shop that caters to the used car lots they are usually the cheapest. Also is there a local motorcycle forum / rider group or club in the area ? If so they might recommend a local place.

Chocker,

Did you try asking the local shops in French?
They seem to hate Anglos in Montreal.
