I bought one of those things the other day that's about 20 times better at what it does than you would expect for the price.

The adjustment range is from about normal chair height down to less than kneeling height, has a tool tray in the bottom and rolls so freely a stiff breeze would blow it out the door.

For those with crook backs and knees, or those wishing to avoid them, this is a very handy FJ tool.

Sorry about the typo "milk" not mike.... Yep it is deluxe alright, 30 years of paint over spray, welding and bouncing around the garage floor. Lots of history with it. Can't find the metal ones anymore..... I also have an low roll around stool that we used working under and launching F-4's.
If I ever get or build one of those nice lifts I would have to reinvest in stools.....

I recently was considering getting one of these from Harbor Freight, but saw a couple on the return desk with broken wheels.  I guess the wheels are pretty junky.  For $75, with coupon, they should be a bit better.



I'm looking to build something similar myself.  Hey, it's gonna be a long winter.

I can't even calculate how many hours I spent in this saddle during the rebuild!!!:



It was less than $30 and well worth every penny spent!    

Looking at your garage though...I now have lift-envy!

At least I now know I can expect reasonable service from mine then.

Re lift envy: It is THE best thing I own next to the bike itself. They're cheap in the States I believe, a few hundred dollars new or get one second hand (like I did) for about half price.

Last time I saw it, it was pretty rough...How is it coming along?

My low-side accomplished quite a bit!  During the fix-up, I upgraded to CBR mirrors, got my Givi brake lights intstalled, stiffened up the foot pegs, got some mesh riding gear, welded up a cracked frame tab the Givi Wingrack was using, replaced some scratched parts and gave it a good cleaning and wax job!  It's as good as new...with upgrades!

You are working a heck of a lot faster than me Ron    Today I finished polishing the fork vases. Went through and cleaned up the internals, replaced one fork tube. The fuel tank is like new and I have it stored out of the way. Monday will order new packing material for the mufflers. Then I can put the buffer on them. Windscreen yet to be decided on.... As it ended up the only items that will be repainted are the side scoops , fender and chin scoop. All solid colors no stripes or fancy decals involved.
As funds allow I plan on getting  Rentec engine guards from Randy and will get a new top box for the rear. Just taking my time and restoring, cleaning and inspecting things as I go. The truth of it is I could get it rideable in a few days but the weather is getting colder up here and I might as well just stick to the plan and continue the semi restoration. Family issues are probably going to keep me here this winter so I will need something to keep me busy and the FJ is as good as anything. Normally we spend the winters in Yuma. Looking forward to seeing everyone next spring at the rallies.

I see that you have some spare plastic on the way  . You just never know and the stuff is getting harder to find in good shape. I am glad you are up and running again and enjoying reading your traveling posts. Take care down there in the warm sunshine....
