Another issue is that the "Unread" button yields no new posts, but if I look at recent posts there are plenty I have not yet read.

Not sure what's going on there...

FYI.

I have the same issue fairly often.

look at the text stating "No unread topics found since your last visit. Click here to try all unread topics." if you scroll over the second "click here" sentence it will highlight and you can click on it to see the new posts since last visit. Not sure whats going on there, but so far my clicky finger has not worn out...

I did not know about - and I have been unable to duplicate - the problem you guys are having.  When I click on "Unread" it works great for me...I'll have to run some tests on different computers and different browsers.  Perhaps it is a browser compatibility issue.  Both of you: please tell me what browser you are using to get the "Unread" button not to work.

Also - it may be a cookie issue.  Are either of you going through a company firewall - or personal firewall that blocks cookies?  I'd like to figure this problem out - not good if it is happening to the masses...

It happened to me once. I hadn't logged in for a couple of days, which may be germane...

Firefox and IE7 both do it. (I run both at different times.)  Home computer, no trouble anywhere else

Dan Filetti

Firefox V3.5.3, Mcafe Firewall.  If that helps at all.

Edit: It seems to be related to the new look and feel in terms of timing -although that could be an illusory correlation...

Dan, Bill & Dean - does it do this EVERY time for you?  Or is it sporadic?  threejagsteve seemed to make a post implying that it happened to him once - just trying to narrow this down.

threejagsteve

I seemed to make a post?   :wacko3:

Yes, Marsh, it happened to me once, and only once - on the rare and perhaps only occasion that I didn't log in for a day or two.

And btw, I'm using IE8. And I frequently destroy all cookies.  ;)

FJ Flyer

Working fine for me on Firefox and on my Blackberry.  I'll also say the improvements for the mobile side have been great, much better all around.   :good2:

It happens more often than not. but not every time. I have no geek skills so I have no idea what firewall I am running. I do run the AGV antivirus if that helps.

Dan Filetti

I have yet to see it not happen, said another way, it always happens for me.

marsh,

it's happening every time.  for a day or so, very soon after i posted, it stopped, and i assumed you waved a magic wand and made things better.  but it's back to no unread posts, "but click here to read all unread posts etc. etc"

thx.

It's not happening here at work, which, from what I'm to understand, has firewalls coming out the ying-yang...

If that helps,
