Jeff and I are still driving, no surprise there. We had a wonderful breakfast before we left the campground. It was GREAT to see everyone as always. Calvin, don't make it so long next time.

I got home last night a little after dark.  Dan Filetti offered a spot on his trailer and to drop me off in Staunton off I81 on his way through.  When we got there it was raining so hard he drove me all the way to Richmond, out of his way.  Thanks again Dan.   :good2:

Good to see everybody, fun as always.  I got a couple pics, will post later.

As planned I pulled out of Tellico at 0415, drove in ran through all of Kentucky. Arrived home at 1100 Saturday. All is as good as can be expected here. Was great meeting everyone!

Howdy,

I had to leave a day earlier (hope someone got the cabin) unexpectedly.  Heading west it rained through most of Arkansas and I think into Oklahoma.  However was rewarded with the most spectacular sunset Thursday evening -fiery red clouds across the skyline to the horizons.  Friday into New Mexico & Arizona there were spectacular painted skylines with billowing cloud formations all around.

It was good to see all the usual suspects.  Both Nancy's were as gracious as ever, the Fan and TRoy returning after their respective hiatus.  Nice to meet Mr. Filetti & FJScott and his wife & others as well.

Ride safe everyone,

Mike Ramos.

We played tourist on the rainy Saturday. Hiked into canauga falls off 68. Just rolled into Vero Beach. We had a great time at our first rally and plan on attending as many as we can in the future. It was great to meet and ride with y,all.

What a nice guy Dan. Boy you should have seen how well your rain jacket fit Calvin. ;)

I left Danny off in Staunton -which is where he realized he had forgotten his coat... -I gather he had about 45 mins south to go, and he had a spare coat, so I felt OK doing it as the bulk of the rain seemed to have let up and it was, when I left him, just drizzling.   However, 20 minutes up the road it began to come down in buckets again -ooops.  I very much hoped it was coming down so heavy, local to me only, and not Danny on his DR, but I'm guessing Danny saw some of that too.

Best-laid plans...

Thanks for the company Danny, it made the drive more fun and the time sure seemed to go much faster with your good company -well worth the few extra out of route miles.

Dan F. had a black/white/grey Fieldsheer coat VERY similar to mine, only 2 sizes smaller.  Guess I saw his jacket and thought it was mine as I was loading.

So 8 hours later as he's dropping me off in Richmond, I put all my gear on, coat last.  Grabbed his coat put it on and it's way too small/tight.. I thought - wtf, my coat shrank!  Dan F of course realizes it's his..  As I struggle and flail to get it off he starts doing the "fat guy in the little coat" Tommy Boy bit.

I had an extra jacket in my bag for the short ride home and Calvin brought the other one back for me, all good.

It rained steady but not hard like it had earlier.  only about 35 min home and it was plenty warm so piece of cake.  Thanks again for the ride.

The time flew by and we did pretty much solve the country's political troubles..  Too bad we're not running this joint!

We finally made it home about 10pm last night. Basically we unhooked the bike trailer and hooked up the horse trailer for me to shuttle horses home today. We just unloaded the bikes in a steady drizzle.

It was GREAT to see everyone and have new people to come and ride with us. Nancy G and Jeff and I went into Tellico on Saturday to the book store. Oh yes I bought a book for our rallies.....750 cookie recipes!

Mike Ramos, sorry you had to leave unexpectedly. Hope everything is ok at home. Glad you checked in. See you next year!

12 hours and one trailer tire later, I finally made it home.  Traffic on I-81 was pretty light and very few people hanging in the left lane.  The weather for Sunday's ride was nice, even though I used my heated jacket liner and grip heaters..

Mike Ramos, thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your vacated cabin.  Sorry we missed you this time around (but it's still inspiring to know you rode out there again.)

Between that and Jim Smola's air mattress in Dave Skipper's cabin the following night, we slept dry and comfy both nights.

It was great to see everyone who was there, and to hear from those who couldn't make it or couldn't stay until we could get there.
