Can a different front fender work on our bikes?

The back half of my front fender is gone. The used ones I see for sale have broken mounting holes where it bolts to the fork.
Is there a fender from another bike that will bolt on to our stock forks? Swapping front forks is not an option for me right now.

I think I can make an R1 or R6 fender work. I just need to borrow one to design the adapter brackets to fit the FJ forks. Any one with a spare?
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.
