Hey guys,
I have been looking long and hard and can not seem to find a tall windshield for my 1986 FJ. I have seen a few made for the 1988-90 year bikes, but nothing for my 1986.
Does anyone know where I can buy a tall windshield for my 1986 FJ?  :dash2:  (I will buy a used one if someone has one.)

I saw thier +4" windshield for the 86', but I'm looking for type of windshield that tips-up slightly at the top in order to help move the air closer to over my helmet. They seems to make the tipped-up type for the 84'-85' and 89'-90', but I can not seem to find one for the 86' to 88'.
If anyone can help me find a tall windshield for a 86' that is slightly tipped-up at the top I would appriciate it?

Here is an example of an 89'- 90'...

Actually that image is from the 84-85 FJ.  They will make a curved up lip on the end of the 86-87 +4 if you ask them.  Read this first: http://www.fjowners.com/index.php?topic=93.0

Marsh White,
I did realize that the windshield I pictured is from an 84'-85', this is the type (Tall and tipped-up) I am looking for for an 86'-88'.
Thanks for the link and the info, I didn't realize that they could bend it if asked. I will e-mail them and see if I can get what I'm looking for.
Thanks again!

'86-87 probably.  They changed again in '88.

Try these guys, bit far to go but other club members have claimed them to be good quality.

The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

I have an Eagle Screen (link posted byFJ Monkey) on my '89. They are out of Austrailia.  The service was excellent and the screen is of very good quality.  I bought the 3" higher than stock "windlip" and it does a great job of keeping the direct wind off my neck and helmet.  They'd be worth checking out IMHO.

Mark,

How tall are you, and are you running the stock seat?

Are these predrilled?

Do you recall how much to ship from Oz?

Steve.... yes the Eagle screens are pre-drilled... Quite a few members over there in the US have purchased an Eagle screen so someone will let you know shipping costs I'm sure..
I have their "hybrid" screen myself ('91+ model).... its around an inch or 2 taller. For a short (read less than 5' 10" or so) it would offer better buffeting protection....... did not do much for me tho (6' 4").

AS I said, they are pre-drilled and fit like a glove.

Thanks, Harvy,

In my other (Jaguar) life, I've shipped stuff both into and out of Oz, so I'm quite aware that air post can be frightful!

Cheers, and Kookaloo!

No problem Steve...... I'm an ex-Jaguar owner myself....... Series 2 XJ6L....... loved the way that car just sat on the road no matter how hard you pushed it.   Ended up just too expensive to keep repairing the body so I sold it. Spent around $6000 on the motor when I first bought it....... line bored the crank and cam shaft mounts and re-furbished the carbs. (I learnt a lot about multi-carbs with that engine!).

Cheers
