Ok had the forks apart managed to find most lost bits its supernatural the way things get lost. Anyway the chap that sold me the seals said that if the play between bushings and tubes the seals will never seal and replacing the bushes is not going to work and that the bushes need to be shimmed.. ever try to shim the top bush drinking even more now. Tubes are not worn slider internals not sure any truth to all this??

Yep, that is why you should replace the bushings too...

Whoever told you this has it all wrong. If in question replace the bushings, they are what wear.

The guy that mentioned shimming the bushings was half right. In the old days we shimmed up the bushings on the bottom of the fork tubes to compensate for the wear at the id of the fork sliders. The only problem with that was the top of the slider usually had no wear, making it difficult to add enough shim to make it snug at the worn area and still get the bushing in the top of the slider. The only reason you would need to shim behind the top bushing is if the bushing fit was machined oversize.

HE said bring the forks in and he would show me he mentioned racing application where they would "blue print the forks and take any slop out to reduce any weirdness under  braking and corering in racing situations.
Thing is the Teflon does  not appear worn off the bushes, perhaps "some" of the Teflon is worn off?
