....... most insurance companies will show some respect for the work (and costs) done to upgrade the insured vehicle.  Present a stack of receipts for the added value, and they may (should) increase their payout to some degree.

Insurance must work differently over there. "Deny, Delay, Confuse and Refuse" is there MO here.

Pretty much universal here, Noel. Usually healthcare. Their motto seem to be "Delay, deny, hope you die".
