steering stem bearings

just curious if anyone knows the bearing numbers for the steering head as i wish to get a new set and dont want to go through yamaha, if i can get them at a bearing shop i know it will be cheaper and mine have a notch in the centre,  86 fj1200 1tx.

LEGEND!!! yes probably will best do the whole lot thanks heaps i will try to get them this week, also try to make up a bearing puller, if i can i'll send pics and see if you want one, tried to amke one for my gpz just tapped the holes wrong and never got round to doing it. cheers again!

I recommend the All Balls kit.  It comes with replacement dust seal and everything.

I just cut my old bearings out with a Dremel.  Hit it at an angle and didn't even as much as scratch the frame.

I also installed a zerk fitting so I never-ever have to take the stupid thing apart again.

nipple sounds better to me, like " I am going to play with the nipple on my "--------" (insert appropriate word, bike, girlfriend etc)"

Garth, can't find a part no, but the dimensions are ID 31, OD 56, W 4......... I'm guessing these are all in mm.......found on this site:

we dont have the  lower seal at napa, but the bearing are in stock at most napas.
