Your question is rather ambiguous.

Is the problem that you saw the PDF, or ???

How is the issue manifesting itself. Does your FJ "sing" after a ride? If so, then you have to remove the little rubber flappers that are restricting the airway.

If not, then please restate your problem with a bit more detail.

My money is on....either 1) Vacuum Petcock failing to stay open..or 2) a fuel line pinch from incorrect fuel line routing....

Do you have the rubber flappers on your '86? (I didn't on my '84)
The rubber flappers are on the '89+ fuel pump bikes. (I had them on my '92)

Regardless, if you have them, cut a pie shape notch out of the sealing surfaces or just remove them entirely.

I am with Pat, my petcock failed and gave me all sorts of problems. I did the Flapectomy and unknowingly messed that up as well. After I gave my petcock the suck test...  :shok:, yes I said it.... I knew the petcock had a vacuum leak. After I replaced it, I still had issues...  :ireful: :ireful: :ireful: Then at a West Coast Rally Randy got me sorted out and found my error. If you chose to remove the flaps, remove the entire white plastic piece that holds them. The V cuts will not work if you install the white plastic piece upside down...
