Probably not too many of us still around with the ad. I have just rebuilt all my original calipers in the hope that i can get the brakes to offer somewhat reasonable stopping power. Have steel lines and will fit EBC HH up front, should be ok after that.
Have decided to try it without the ad and see how it is. My question is what bolts do i require to fill the hole in the ad unit(pitch,size,not sure?).The single banjo bolt will be moved to the brake line. Tried a couple of small places with no joy. Would help if i knew exactly what i was looking for. Thanks, Sean.

 :hi: Hey Sean, a week or so ago I removed the brake lines and blocked off the A D from my '85. I used a couple of new flange bolts...you need: M10-1.25 x 20mm... :good2:

If you are disabling the AD, you need a proper block-off plate to allow the fluid to flow between the two sections.  Simply filling the holes will not allow for proper fork action.  I think Randy sells such a thing, for not all that much money, IIRC.

Will check out RPM. Was hoping to keep the budget down and just pop a bolt in there.

Just remove the top portion of the AD units and the hoses, that is all you have to do. Just need a few shorter banjo bolts where you took off the extra hoses and your budget is safe. That is how Randy did it on his 86', simple, easy and cost effective.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

yep, what monkey said,, just take the top anti d hose off the unit,  should be able to use those banjo bolts on the calipers,  pretty sure its the two i used when i disabled the ad on my 84 ambulance
unless you ride bikes, I mean really ride bikes, then you just won't get it

So it can be done on the cheap by removing the line to ad and block with suitable bolt or remove line and top portion of ad unit?
Is it a bolt again that's required if top portion is binned?

use a bolt if you want, but i just left these open, nothing to lose,  or fall apart, just take the hose off, and change the banjo on the caliper, bleed the brakes and go
