Stuck Bolt - How can I get it out?

Bike sat for over 15 years, been going through it. Sprayed these screws with penetrating oil many times, started slow...it started turning then it snapped. Bottom one loosened up fine.

What's the best way to get it out?

The most common way to remove the broken screw would be.
A center punch and hammer to stake a center mark in the broken screw.
A small drill bit and drill to make a hole in the center of the screw.
An Easy Out bolt extractor to remove the broken screw.

Left hand twist drill bit. Use a center punch to divot the center of the broken stud, helps the drill bit stay in the center. Then drill it out with a bit about an 1/8 inch diameter. Drill straight and slow, the broken stud tends to back out on the drill bit when the bit digs into the stud.

Those screws have factory loctite.

The left hand drill might work, but you might need to heat to soften the loctite to get it out.

Is the factory loctite like just blue or red loctite ?

Should I heat lightly with a hair dryer or a lot with a heat gun?

Blue is rated to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. I don't think a normal hair dryer will get that hot.

Bit of heat couldn't hurt, don't think you'd need 300°.

As you're drilling it'll heat up also, just don't break the drill bit while doing it.

Ideally you want to heat the case so it expands, but not the bolt.  Or heat the bolt less than the case.  Anything that makes it less tight.

Anyone know what threads these bolts area? I took the one I pulled out to the hardware store and I think it's an M8x16 so I got new ones but when checking fitment on the bike the threads of the new ones don't feel right so I didn't force it in. ChatGBT says it's M6x20mm. If anyone knows for sure that would help. It's a 1986. The bolts I took out were phillips heads which I'm surprised to see on an engine so wondering if they were original or not.

Should be M6 x 1.0 by about 16 to 20 mm long.

They are JIS screws not phillips and yes they appear to be the originals, at least what I can see of the one that is left.

They are 5mmx0.80 thread. Length is about 3/4 So 19mm length. Be careful with a 20mm long They will bottom out at some point and break the case before they tighten down on teh cover. 20mm length may work I haven't tried just be cautious when tightening.
