I think it's 100 octane low lead Av gas Pat.

I bought a 5 gallon can of VP C9 race gas...that purple stuff works great.

Alternatively, Rainbow Agricultural sells 5 gal cans of alcohol free gasoline.  Works outstanding in the little engines like chainsaws, trimmers, Briggs & Stratton, etc.  I assume it would work in our motorcycles too.

What's 100LL?

AV gas?

Like the other fellas have said, yes, it is what used to be called AVGAS, from back in my Air Force days, that is what we called it, but now it's called 100 low lead, in the same way how we were used to JP4, it's referred to JET A now.

So where can I get some of that 100LL and what would be the appropriate mix ratio with regular gasoline?
Thanks
Armen

I run pure 100 octane gasoline (be aware that US and EU express octanes differently, but maybe 100 is 100 on both sides), no need to mix it.
What is the highest ethanol content fuel that you guys ran in FJ?

Last I checked, AVgas was available at a FBO (I'm having fun letting the new guy figure that one out)

No mix ratio, you want to replace all your fuel with 100% ethanol free fuel.
I don't have to worry about tank condensation in my dry desert region so I just keep 2 gallons in my tank.

Again, this is for storage....if you ride every other weekend, you're fine with E10 fuel.

So i guess I need to have my carbs cleaned but I unfortunately don't have the space nor the experience to do it (even though I would love to learn some time). How can I contact Robert from RPM so I could send the carbs to him for a pro cleaning?
Thanks
Armen

Armen,

You can call the shop during business hours M-F. We head out for lunch on some days and have to pick-up & deliver parts as well. So, if you don't get an answer leave a message and we can call you back.

Secondly, feel free to send an email if that is more convenient.

You can find the contact info on the link Pat posted.

We will get you dialed in and on the road.
