.... and darn it, the front calipers are dragging just a bit on the disks.  No idea why. 

If you are talking light contact ("just a bit") as opposed to actual dragging, that is normal for disc brakes.

If you can feel or hear it when rolling the bike or turning the wheel but it spins freely, that is normal.

If the wheel will not spin freely off the ground, well then, it is dragging and needs to be looked into.
