Hi All.

Have stripped cleaned and re-greased all my rear suspension linkages and bearing. Very slight tarnishing on bushes that run inside roller bearings but no visible wear.
We everything reassembled and rear wheel off the ground if I put a lever between bottom of rear tyre and the floor I can lift the wheel about 2-3 mm before any resistance from the shock. i.e There is a small amount of play so really after some thoughts on what might be considered acceptable.

G day,
I reckon the amount of play you have is fine. There are exact figures in the manual but if you dont have one to check
Don't stress too much until your clearances increase

As long as the side to side play is minimal ,you are ok.

If you have play in the suspension, that means something is worn out or loose.  If it were me, I would find it and fix it.

G'day,

I am pretty sure that when I looked in the manual about suspension awhile ago, a small amount of play was allowable, considering the leverage in relation to the length of the swingarm I would be pretty surprised if there was no play.

Biggo, In relation to buying suspension parts, go through part shark out of the U.S, much cheaper than the local suppliers.  When I revamped my suspension the cost difference was huge!

cheers, Gareth
