Hi Guys i have just rebuilt my 1989 3CV its a californian model and i cannot find where the pressure sensor rubber pipe fits into under the petrol tank any ideas?

Gonna need a bit more info.

Most of the plumbing on a given motorcycle is below the tank.  What's the other end going to?  Or is this the thing that plugs into manifold #2?  There's an overflow line to the tank someplace, but no pressure there really.

heres a link to the photo the unit is mounted right hand side of the fairing cradle it has three wires on a multi plug it also has a two foot 6 or 7mm rubber pipe running out of it http://fjowners.com/gallery/7/806_04_06_14_12_31_09.jpeg

It hooks to one of the intake manifold ports. It does not matter which one either.

cheers for that randy i will just have to search for the manifold conecter it came off (or is off with the carbs again) just wondering can i just blank it off?

Each intake manifold has a nipple sticking out of the top where you can hook it up or you can just leave the sensor uncapped and make sure the intake is capped and ride it.

No, buy a proper oem cap for the intake port plug.
The light skinned vacuum caps used on autos will heat crack and leak. There is a reason why Yamaha used heavy rubber caps.
