The electrical thing with 2 wires under the carb... has rubber lines conected to the "t" fitings between carbs 1 and 2  ... 3 and 4.            What is it and can I just remove it.?  (1990 fj1200)

Very strange!

They are float bowl overflow/vent tubes......they should not go anywhere near electricicals........

FJZ1 1200 - It'll do me just fine.
Timing has much to do with the success of a rain dance.

That is part of the emissions system. It prevents the bowls from venting fuel vapor unless the bike is running.

Sorry, no more time to explain now.

Like what Randy says - its emissions, so you now know your bike is an 'sc' model meaning built especially for California. Additionally you can get rid of all that canister crap should you wish (it tidies things up, improving access to that area, but doesn't make any difference to running), but keep it safe just in case the law makes us do even more things we don't really want to do.

For testing purposes only I would remove it and do a LONG term test
