The electrical thing with 2 wires under the carb... has rubber lines conected to the "t" fitings between carbs 1 and 2  ... 3 and 4.            What is it and can I just remove it.?  (1990 fj1200)

Are you referring to the two white tee's in this picture ? (well almost white....crappy lighting)

They are float bowl overflow/vent tubes......they should not go anywhere near electricicals........ :biggrin:

That is part of the emissions system. It prevents the bowls from venting fuel vapor unless the bike is running.

Like what Randy says - its emissions, so you now know your bike is an 'sc' model meaning built especially for California. Additionally you can get rid of all that canister crap should you wish (it tidies things up, improving access to that area, but doesn't make any difference to running), but keep it safe just in case the law makes us do even more things we don't really want to do.
