Title: Reproduction FJ Fairings/Belly Pans and SCOOPS.
Post by: X-Ray on February 25, 2015, 12:14:28 AM
I'm not sure if this link has been posted but Fred put this one up on the Lateral Frame Concept group, and it looks like a french company doing these. Main area in interest for some would be I think the full fairing copy and those unobtanium scoops. Listings for both early and later FJ models.

Anyway, heres the link   http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fpoly26.com%2Fcarenage-moto-tuning-yamaha-1200-fj-1988-1990_5-148.html&h=cAQG7T_30 (http://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=http%3A%2F%2Fpoly26.com%2Fcarenage-moto-tuning-yamaha-1200-fj-1988-1990_5-148.html&h=cAQG7T_30)

I have one of those twin headlight fairings fitted to the 3CV I recently built.
It was bought as a project and the fairing came with the bike.

I'm computer illiterate so posting a photo is beyond me!

Cheers Ian.

I wonder who would be a good candidate for a USA importer ...

The twin round head light is really cool, now they need to up the mold and work in some bad ass LED set up. I didn't see the price but I bet its more than the cost of the bike.

I was looking closely at the back of the headlight shell on the French headlights, it looks like you can use H4 LED retrofit bulbs in each headlight.

2 of those LED dudes would give you some *serious* light output. I am now using just one of those LEDs in my '84 and it is bright.
Imagine using 2  :shok:

For the Dual Headlight '88-'90 fairing w/scoops and the headlight w/fixtures. The price at current US dollar to Euro exchange rate would be $438.00 plus whatever the shipping cost would be.

Honestly that price is reasonable if you really needed a fairing. If I didnt know any better I'd say those are aircraft landing lights in the dual set up??? I've been kicking around trying to find another fairing and completely doing away with the turn signal lenses all together and doing some sort of LED on the mirrors or something.  My left turn signal has been fixed too many times and now the lens is taking a dump and I cant find one anywhere. When you cant find the old parts its time to step up to modernization. Would seem simpler at times to just buy a newer style bike that you can still get parts for. I like the FJR an awful lot.
