Title: Hello from Kansas
Post by: aviationfred on May 26, 2012, 01:26:55 AM
Hello everyone. I just bought a 1989 FJ1200. This is my 2nd FJ. I bought a 85 FJ1100 in 1988, I loved that bike. But fell in love with the larger fairing of the 1200. After all these years I finally got one.

Welcome. I think you and I are the only ones from Kansas on this forum.  I'm up in Salina.

Lots of good info on this site. The guys are really helpful.  Have fun and be safe.

Welcome.
To truly appreciate the FJ, you need to attend one of our Rallies.
There are several to pick from, and the Colorado Rally is coming up next month.

I would love to attend a rally. The Colorado rally isn't that far away. I already have vacation plans to spend a week in Las Vegas for a military reunion.

I should have stated some of this at the beginning....I will start with a little background of myself. I rode motorcycles as my main vehicle from the time I was 19 until I was 30. Most of my riding was in North Carolina and Southern California. During that time i did 3 coast to coast rides. I have been without a bike for the last 15 years. I have just recently purchased a 1989 FJ1200 and getting back into the full motorcycle lifestyle.

I'm in St. Joe, MO.

If you (or anyone) is up this way, I'll give you the tour. We have an incredible parkway system to ride, a lot of history here.

Congrats on getting back into riding

I used to be Red and White, Until it got wadded up on Angeles Crest highway 3 miles east of Pasedena back in 1990.
