I've received the blue dot calipers and see that I'm going to need new brake lines, as the orientation of the attachment point at the caliper is different than the FJ's brakes. It looks like a straight end with no 15* or 22* off set is needed at the caliper but I'd sure like some confirmation of this before ordering lines. can anyone check to see on their blue dots if the line end comes straight off the caliper and on it's way to the master?
Or a close up picture would be great.
Thanks
Mark

Why didn't you ask earlier?? I have the bike all covered up for the night now. Having recently installed Blue dots, the connection at the caliper is not straight. You want them pointing away a little to clear the forks and not foul up or chafe on anything. Maybe I will pull the front of the cover up and take a pic or two for you. Consider it my Red Power Ranger good deed for the day. :blum1:
Hope this helps...

Okay, but don't tell anyone.....
I used Speigler 90 degree fittings at the bottom. Mint
I've already NOT told a lot of folks.
Great, thanks for the pictures Mark. That answers my question on the bend. I'll mock up with clear tubing tonigth to get a length for the lines.
JMR, thanks, I'm assunming you mean rotated 90* as compared to the FJ. So, yes, thanks for the confirmation on that too.

http://spieglerusa.com/standard-line (http://spieglerusa.com/standard-line) If you scroll down to the fittings it is fitting 090. Used a standard straight banjo at the master

Hummm.... interesting . I'll take a closer look tonight. So it would be bent up at 90* and to the side 15* or 20* as in FJMonkey's photos? FJMonkey's photos look like it's straight with a sideways off set by 15* or 20*. It looks like the fitting is up against the stop as it should be in the last photo.
Do you have a photo??

I will have to set up an account to download pics on to....I guess I can have my oldest son do it Monday when he returns from college. The 90 degree bend is on top.....I did have to grind down 1 banjo stop on the calipers. It leads the lines straight back with a nice arc towards the master. I'll try and get some pics up.

Looks like I will be able to get some pics up Monday
JMR, I followed your link to Spiegler and that was a huge help. The offsets were one issue, but then the twist and how much and to what side to twist was another issue. I've had to reorder SS lines before because I had ordered the wrong twist . I spoke with a representative at Spiegler and they told me that their fittings are able to be twisted with a special tool that they send with the custom lines. I've ordered the lines with the bends that seemed to make sense and will twist them accordingly when I fit them on.
Once again, much time and frustration is saved with advice and experience from the members of this forum, so a big thank you to y'all! I'll post some pics when I get the whole works together. Hope it all fits!! :i_am_so_happy:
