Title: Aluminium swing arm question.
Post by: 1tinindian on September 28, 2011, 10:58:31 PM
Will an 89 FJ aluminium swing arm be a direct fit into my 91 FJ.
What, if any, mods are needed?
That's right, I'm looking for more to polish! LOL! :dash1:

Leon, I have not tried it, but believe the answer is yes.
You may also need the earlier chain adjusters as the arm box section is different.

Thought you needed the entire suspension assembly to manage it.  Something about the shock being different, and the linkage being different.

Leon,

The aluminium arm from a '88-'90 bolts straight onto a '91+ (I've got one on mine) The earlier chain adjusters are also needed. FJ11/12 '84-'87 arm is different. I guess it might fit if the matching linkages/shock were used.
