Guys,
I was out of town from early last week until late last night. I went down to Las Vegas for the 2009 INEX Thunder Roadster World Finals Road Racing Championships. I went into the weekend with an opportunity to complete a perfect season. I had obtained the maximum 1100 points available before that event, and was confident in a victory at the event.
While Vegas is known for it's great weather; it was cold. On Thursdays practice the high temp was 37, and the wind was blowing making it feel much colder. It continued to be cold throughout the weekend as we had to block engine oil coolers to get the oil temps up to the 220 degree operating temps.
I was able to obtain fast qualifer, win my heat and the World Final main event thus capping off a perfect season.
Here is a picture of the car from earlier this year;

I sat down just a little while ago and have over 500 emails to go through. If you sent me something I will be responding back today.
Thank you for your patience; Randy
Good show and now back to the real world :good2:

Congrats Randy, you're walking the talk.
Looks like Rich Ferreira was nipping at your heels with 1158 points. Was he dogging you in LV?
Did you do the water cooler conversion on your 1250? Prolly not needed in the cold desert.
We are very lucky to have someone of your caliber available to help us, thanks amigo!
Get some rest.
Nice work, Randy!! :good2:

Congrats Randy!
Hard enough just to field a competative entry, make all the events, and perform well -- but a perfect season, HOLY CRAP! Well done indeed. :drinks:

Good work mate, well done.
A question for you, when you say "2009 INEX Thunder Roadster World Finals Road Racing Championships", which nations of the world make up the competitors?
Don't be a twat, Klav.
Grats Randy, good to see your hard work and skill paid off!

On the face of it a "fair question", but with such an easy answer, I suspect you're baiting Randy.
Let me help you laddie, go to the INEX website: http://www.uslegendcars.com/ (http://www.uslegendcars.com/)
In the Masters Asphalt class alone, there is 416 entrants, of which, I
stopped counting at 26 Canadians, 21 Englishmen and 8 Scots (UK?).....Here Klavdy, count them yourself: http://tinyurl.com/ybv7lfw (http://tinyurl.com/ybv7lfw)
After you finish with the INEX Masters Asphalt class, don't to forget to also Tally the other 16 INEX classes..
It is curious to note that there are no Aussie entrants......

I wonder if there has ever been a competition between the Legends and the Aussie series cars?

Harvy,
Its not possible for the legends and aussie series cars to race as the legends tend to circulate the track in a clockwise manner as the aussies circulate in a counter clockwise manner.

Not me, although I've always been interested in Legend/Thunder style road racing. A step up from my early shifter cart days. No boring oval racing for me, road racing is where it's at.
Hate the NASCAR hype circus....reminds me:

Klavdy,
There are cars being marketed throughout various countries but, I don't know all of them. Pat did provide the website listing all of the competitors for the 2009 season. When we attended the "World Finals" in Las Vegas there were guys there from Canada, Mexico, England, Scotland and Morocco that were recognized during our drivers meeting in recognition of their attendance.
There was a full page add in the sports section of the USA today newspaper last Friday that listed all of the countries they are now exporting cars to. With the same add was also the release of the new name. It was previously "600 Racing" and they have now changed it to "U.S. Legend Cars International". I do not have official word of the reasoning for the change as it is supposed to announced at the banquet on Friday night.
Just checking in from the hotel in Charlotte, N.C.

Harvy,
I had never seen these cars before. I quickly looked through the website, and they under the body look a lot like a Legend car; down to the FJ powerplant. If fact one this page, that looks like a Legend car smoking the tire under braking at the top of the page; http://www.aussieracingcars.com.au/cars.htm (http://www.aussieracingcars.com.au/cars.htm)

Harvey-
I am not sure we do have that exact car here in the US or if it's just re-branded. We have the Camry and The slighter bigger, slightly more opulent Avalon. Do you have these cars in addition to the Aurion? If I had to guess, I'd say it's a re-branded Avalon.

Dan.......No mate, different car. At a guess it's midway between the Camry (they build them here too) and the Avalon (not available here that I know of) in size.

I have returned home from my trip and I had a great time. Toured around a little bit and was able to spend a good amount of time with a couple of good friends of mine.
I returned to well over 300 emails that I have completely gone through finally today. I have to go back to work tomorrow and will not be back to the shop until Monday the 25Th. I think I responded to everyone who had sent me an email, if not I apologize. Please shoot me another one and I will reply next week.
Chris and David your parts are one the way via USPS.
Thanks you,

Randy,
I have 2 sets of carb bodies (YZF600 ) that need help.
I let a local guy clean them in his ultrasonic, only to find out that he A. didn't rinse or blow then out and B. used simple Green as his detergent. I The butterflies were stuck shut and everything was coated with a dried film of what is probably the simple green. I soaked the carbs in hot water and sprayed the throttle linkage down with WD-40 to free things up. I also blew out all the internal passages with compressed air and they seem OK. I am just concerned that I didn't get all the residue removed.
Do you think cleaning them in your machine will ensure that they are clean. and if so, how much to do it. Both sets are stripped down and ready to "bake".
BTW just got the computer fixed today and will be sending out the YZF repair manuals shortly.
