84 petcock on 87 (get rid of the Electric Reserve troubles)

My 87 FJ1200 has that stupid electric reserve petcock which can cutoff the fuel while you are attempting a multi vehicle uphill pass !! What were they thinking !  To Yamaha's credit they didn't keep making that petcock, but why did they ever do it the 1st time.  Anyway, mine finally began to leak fuel because the vac bellows got 23 years old.  I could find no repair parts for the bellows.  The new Yamaha part was insanely expensive, so I found that the 84 FJ1100 petcock was a direct bolt up and some less expensive also.  My fuel light on the dash still lights up to warn of low fuel, but now there is NO  electric cutoff of fuel, and no need to scramble to turn on the reserve setting.  You could still run out of fuel, but only after looking at that bright red light for about 3/4 of a gallon.  I like this a lot better and it cost quite a bit less to boot.

The part number is 36Y-24500-01

Hope this info may help someone.
I didn't try any aftermaket ones since I could not find any with correct pipe angles and 46mm center mounting holes.  Also there is so little room under  there for any changes of tubing routing etc.

Great Idea!
I put a Pingel setup on
Full manual with reserve
If it's not broken, fix it anyways
