Years ago I installed a couple of halogen H3 driving lights.  55w per light was a bit much when I had the heated grips and electric vest going, so I replaced the halogen lights with LEDs.  Not bad, but nothing like the halogen bulbs.

Last week I got a new set of super white 5w LED bulbs for $3 from ebay.

LED technology has really improved: the new lights are almost as bright as the halogens. Impressive.

Given how much less power these take, I'd recommend them.

The globes above are 'Cree' globes and much brighter than normal LED's
