You know....many of my family and friends ask me 'why the fascination with Australia?' .....and I tell them all the same thing.......Many years ago, I saw a special Croc Hunter episode when the late great Steve Irwin came to Canada and managed to catch and release the elusive and deadly Massassauga Rattler......I was lucky to find the rare clip and am proud to post it. Not only was he able to capture and release the snake.....but the bugger drank the venom right there on camera ....live !!! It was then that I knew I had to visit the land of the Man......

Nope I cant wait Kev!. I keep thinking, ahhh, its 6 months away, but March will be here soon enough. Went and did my tax return today, woo hoo, can finally place my RPM order to get my baby ready for the rally. :yahoo:  Unfortunatley not enough of a return to get the rear shock, but the forks will be sorted out 100%.

All good natured ribbing folks Smiley

No worries Mates...we need more of it.
Seeing as we have a few visiting us from the America`s in early March, we may need a bit of ANZAC strength ta help fend them off.
Let me know if ya need a ride...(No I can`t supply a paddock!)...but let me know by PM if ya even a tiny bit interested in a sensational weekend or two around March 8th.

Sorry we made them win that boat race against ya! ...but I think we can make it up at a private brewery in our Alps!
Unless of course your part of the raffle!...  :drinks:

mmmm....funny, only thinking this morning about where I live. (https://www.google.com.au/#q=Sunshine+Coast)

I (and some local FJ blokes) have had some requests about what ta see in Australia when overseas visitors....err...Visit! They get tha usual replies like Uluru, Cairns, Outback, Opera House ...blah blah blah!

I was laying back in my favourite stretch lounge in the outdoor area of the Alex Surf Club. http://www.alexsurfclub.com.au/sc/scripts/openextra.asp?extra=1
Surf was a little choppy and tha breeze absolutely refreshing as it hid the sting of a sunny spring morn. Nothing but blue sky as two vintage bi=planes passed overhead. A few of the local members, had just come in from a paddle and in their wet swimmers, the banter was full of one upmanship and general stirring...shit I wouldn`t mind being rescued by some of those girls!....anyhow the serenity was broken by the kiosk loud speaker..."Coffee for Dena!"..."Coffee for Dena!" ....I had put in an order for two large half strengths Latte`s and wandered up to collect...(Oh, I always put it in her name cause there`s a few Doug`s around the place ...besides they usually get it wrong and call Dave`s name till the coffee goes cold and then realise their scribble says Doug!...I digress, sorry)
...I was thinking about how much I absolutely love where I live!...I was thinking of Capt`n Ron`s Visit to his dad in New York! ...I had a friend visit New York for the first time 1 month ago and she loved it.....But, nowhere in her research or her itinerary were the wonderful places the Capt`n visited...and I doubt if any visitor to Australia would discover the little gems outside mainstream that are hidden in the experience of our forum locals....so I`m gunna open me big mouth and tell ya the Sunshine Coast is the best place ta hang ya helmet. But in the spirit of one upmanship, I`m hoping the toffs that live on the Gold Coast will put up a case for that seething place of sin, corruption and bikie gangs! Who knows there may even be some competing logic as to why anyone would want to live in cold old Melbourne or isolated with two headed neanderthalls in Tassie. No doubt Sydney Knows how to let off firecrackers and light up a debt ridden opera house but why are`nt there mountains green (when they`re not on fire!) and why do they all want to move up here!...and and and, why do they call South Australia "South" when it`s really the middle of nowhere, almost surrounded by hot desert, no wonder they took ta growing grog!.....Ya may notice I haven`t mentioned Western Australia...Well that`s cause they`re good blokes over there....(and we want`m ta stay living there!) they got arses of steel over there...well at least tha one`s I met!...and that`s all they got...Iron Ore, by tha megaton!
mmmm...this coffee needs a little extra something... (popcorn)

Doug, I used to live in QL, and when I wasn't, I'd ride up there a couple of times a year, great place.

Some of the things I didn't like about living there were the size of the bugs, the stifling humidity and I REALLY missed a proper Winter. I was also constantly mistaken for a Pom or a Kiwi ( I could live with the Kiwi thing)
Where I lived, if you stood still for 5 mins the moss would start growing on you.

Great place though.

Haha...The uploader tells me the "Wild Party" vid is not allowable in my Country!  :rofl2:

But I hear ya mate and while the Aussie FJ blokes have opened up their arms (and homes) for passing Rally guests, believe me I`ve hardly done a thing...bit slack in fact...especially now Spring is here. Simply fantastic weather for all kinds of fun, relaxing type things....  Poor old FJ1 has even got cobwebs on her!.

No need to be entertaining while you`re here (Mainly cause your music is shite!  :sorry: :sarcastic:) ...but that Capt`n Ron is sure getting me reminiscing on going with the flow, easy going old rides, old pubs, majic country, quirkey experiences and kinda renewing my Vows with the depth of this Country (a partnership often taken for granted), while really, really enticing me ta visit his. (I even looked up the words ta music he was singing...my style!)  :drinks:
