Hey there,
I'm reaching out to the community for ideas to deal with my 1985 FJ1100 engine vibrations. The buzz nums my hands after a while. I'm planning for a shim tuneup soon, and possibly getting from Randy the bar weights. Any suggestions for other options that I could do?
Thanks, Eyal

:hi: Hi Eyal...Anvil, from over your way, had the same problem...infact, it was so bad it made his left hand hurt!!!

He synced his carbs and has reported back that the reduction in vibration is about 80% !!!

After you sync your carbs, try these

I had the same hand numbing problem and these foam grips did an amazing job of reducing the numbness. No numbness now on short rides (under three hours).

Next for me...

Randy also has the parts to upgrade your footpegs to the later years rubber mount.

I feel your pain. I loved my FJ but the numbness scared the F@#& out of me. The foam grips brought back that lovin' feeling (pun intended)

...and once again, Thanks Randy!  :hi:

Eval,

First, make sure the engine is in tune and that the carbs are in sync.
Then adjust your brake and clutch levers so that your wrists are not bent back, and you have a straight reach with your fingers to the levers.
I use a thin foam tube over standard grips and have extra weight at the bar ends.
The other thing you should do is try to relax your hands.  The tighter you grip, the more vibration you'll feel.

I have good luck redicing vibrations by making sure every engine mount bolt and all lower frame rail bolts are tightened to spec. The rear lower frame rail bolts can break or fall out.
