:hi: I was having a chat with Paul from Napanee (a.k.a. paulfj03) the other day and the subject of an FJ clinic/preventative maintenance day came up. We both agreed that this would be a positive step for any FJ rider to attend, regardless of how good you may (or not) be with wrenching :praising: The basic idea is to help each other get and keep these old girls on the road and running at peek performance, as cheaply as possible in regards to using a dealer/independent shop :good2:

The provisional date is Saturday 24th August from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m...('ish) at my place in Erin Ontario...just north of Belfountain and the Forks of the Credit River Road :good:

Paul will supply some of the FJ specific tools for valve adjustment, etc...I'll supply the garage, bike ramp, tools, etc...plus coffee, tea, pop, water, (sorry, but NO alcohol for riders!!!).

It will obviously be BYOP...bring your own parts!!!

Carbs need synced??...I have a Sync Pro tool. Need an oil/filter change??..bring your fresh oil and filter with you. Chain/sprocket job...bring them along too, etc, etc.

Come and get your hands dirty!!...help others with whatever knowledge you may have to offer. It will be a fun day I'm sure :good2:

I can't guarantee that you will leave here a qualified FJ mechanic  but you will gain some knowledge, see some FJ mods and maybe find some new friends and riding buddies :good2:

More to follow... (popcorn)

Rob, you can come over on 4 wheels and say hi to the crew that turn out...as well as learn a wee bit if your interested. You can ship your FJ over on a trailer and we'll help ya rebuild it  :rofl2:   :good:

Pat, I can't take all the praise, if any...without Paul's (paulfj03) input/knowledge and offer to help, as well as one or two others I have spoken with, these kind of things just wouldn't get off of the ground.

Like you and many others here, I want to help out by giving back, (in whatever I can), in an effort to keep these old girls rolling for many years to come. I have learned a lot from this forum and from people that I have met, in person, that have helped me maintain my FJ to a decent standard...We can ALL learn from each other :good2:

If we all keep taking from the well, without giving back, the well will eventually run dry... (popcorn)

That date should work for me.  I'll head up on the FJ and bring what I can. As we get closer to that date we will know what tools we will need... It would be cool to have some of the local FJ gurus like Jake, Bob N,  Zwartie, Hersey289 to name a few; who have been active members for years and have awesome FJs! :good2:

Working on our bikes;  having cold beverages, saving big spendolies on required maintenance done right....  That's hard to beat!!!!  :good2: Big thanks to ya, John... For hosting this!!! :drinks:

Good times! :drinks:

Hey Rob, welcome to the fj community.  :hi:  it would be fun to get your bike up and running...  Let us know what you need... We might be able to help.

My bike runs but requires a safety.
I've been busy the past few weeks buying parts for it.
Hopefully my fairing gets delivered by this weekend so I can start on it.
I'm looking at next spring to have it on the road.
I'm hoping to make it to the fj clinic with my bike on trailer or without it.

Sounds good. I'll think of the tools the guys here are usually borrowing and put them in a saddlebag along with my white lab coat.

Hello all, sounds like a great time and it be real nice to meet some fellow fj riders.
Moving to Guelph on labour day weekend, so it just a short ride from there.
Hope to make it and make some new friends.
