I'm happy to say that I'm the one that bought buschdogg's old FJ, after years of telling myself that if I found one for sale I'd buy it. While it's in pretty decent shape, there are a few things that need to be done, including fixing the horn. It seems that the horn button is stuck on, so as soon as I connect the horn wiring back up and turn the key the horn is on. I messed around with it for a little while this afternoon but can't for the life of me figure out how to remove the switch. I know that there's 2 screws that hold the two halves together; what I can't figure out is how to remove the choke lever. That seems to be holding it together more than the screws do. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I did a search of the forum and didn't really find anything specific (other than a nice pic of the switch already off and split in half). Thanks in advance!

Welcome Paul, I can't help with the horn switch as my experience is 86/87. But I tend to figure it out by tinkering with it and going slow with dis-assembly.
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

remove the cable guide screw on lower left of  the pic

keep rotating the choke clockwise until you will see the small spring loaded ball appear ..lower left inside the choke..then simply pull choke towards you.
When placing back together, remember that the "closed" side of the choke goes towards you

Thanks Antonn3, I will give that a try!
