Sounds like most people had a good time last year at Porterville, staying at a Hotel instead of the KOA.
There's another place not too far that looks like it'd tick a lot of boxes for a Rally Destination.
CLICKITY CLICK this link.
I'll be in that area soon, well, after the 2013 Rally at any rate, and I might stay there to suss it out.

It's east of Fresno, on HWY 168

Their list of "Summertime Activities" doesn't include Motorcycling?
Perhaps someone should clue them in?
Judging by the turnout at the WCRs, you would pretty much have to reserve the whole place...............

Well.. if he books the "Honeymoose Cabin" and wants to share with someone I would decline...

Klavdy,

How goes the sussing?  I can vouch for the epic-ness of that area.  For anyone who hasn't ridden through Yosemite Valley, it's only 93 miles from there!

I'm in Sonora, it's really nice area.
There's been some magnificent roads ridden to get here.
The section of Hwy 49 known as "The Little Dragon" is possibly the finest motorcycle road in the State right now.
It's just been repaved with the most incredibly smooth, clean hotmix.
I rode it three times back and forth yesterday, and will again today just because it's so good.
I'm off to Red Bluff today as well, intending on riding the Hwy 36 ,Hayfork pass etc.

I was in Sonora on Sunday...some excellent roads out that way!  Keep the reports coming in, I'm taking notes!

I'm off for a run up Mulholland (the Snake) today then going to do a PM on the bike.

Report from Quincy:
The Quincy -Oroville road known as Bucks Lake Road or Hwy 162 is now possibly the best riding road for sheer smooth flow.
Far better than Skaggs Springs, big call but true.
The rhythm of this road is incredible, the surface is near perfect with really good sight lines.
Turn after turn after smooth flowing curve, third and fourth gear just rolling on and off, this is one of the best roads I've ever been on.
There was literally no traffic on this beautiful, scenic motorcycle nirvana, the cars and trucks go on Hwy 70 as it's easier for them.
Great, eh!
Leaves this incredible road for us.
You owe it to yourself to ride it, it's that good.
Pics later.

Klavdy,

That region is a great for rides. In fact, I was talking with Baldy about a camp ground I've stayed at a few times.  It's called Feather River Resort in Graeeagle, CA. It's equipped with cabins, a pool, a 9 hole golf course, and plenty of restaurants. And of course, we could grill up a nice meal as well....won't ask Klavdy to front the bill this time. Just my 2 cents for good time possibilities. Check it out on the web.

Klavdy

Hmmm, I might come back over in September for a few weeks, may go check it out.

Sounds like you will be riding with the Nor Cal renegades..me, Mark, Andy and Frank. If Randy and Mike Ramos are available...even better. You can stay with me as home base, and we explore all options. Good time of year to ride... could be a new tradition...there are good times in Nor Cal. Understand you've been running around these parts post rally. Should have let us know, would have been good fun. Keep us posted on your travel schedule, all is welcome for the Nor Cal Renegades.
By the way, we may be exploring my old stomping grounds where I was raised... Franks region in the Bay Area. Hwy 9 to Santa Cruz. How say you bros, lets plan it.
Talk later. Safe travels all.

Shall we start a list of who's interested in attending...

San Jose Frank (and maybe Diane),

Crashing at Andy's was great, but maybe we need to find a bigger place this year?
