Part# 36y-22151-01-00 seal Guard

Does any one know where i can get a chain seal guard 36y-22151-01-00 for my 1985 FJ 1100 Ive been looking on line all morning 
i look on e-bay' missed one 3 weeks ago thanks Mark

Ok so it took me a little bit to remember what 22151 was. This protects the swingarm from the chain at the pivot. I don't no of any after market ones. Looks like Yamaha is out of stock, maybe discontinued. You can try 2kt-22151-00-00 this fits the 89 and up FJ1200. Also Yamaha has a part locator for discontinued parts. Your local Yamaha dealer can do this. Hope this helps.

I got one for my 93 model from a Yamaha dealer last year.

You could also buy a swingarm that has the seal.

On this one the seal looks to be in good nick:

I have toyed with the idea of getting this part made since I discovered they are now made of Unobtainum. I have the part off my '86 and it is in good shape. When the schedule permits I will reverse engineer this part and post up a drawing/CAD file that any machine shop can use to make a new part. It will not be very cost effective but it will be an option. There are a few members here that can machine parts and or have access to machine services so who knows where this will go. Randy may even offer the part in the future. I will also look for less expensive ways to replace this part during my efforts. Stay tuned....
