Vastly different bike form the standard I'm used to. I think we're going to get along, though.

She's got a few scars, but that's character. Main thing is, it runs great. And I can't believe what it feels like on the highway.

Mirrors to go in the stock location are on order. Any tips on getting the fairing and one of the inner panels fixed?

Awesome dude, keeping the Red an White alive, can you tell that I like the early FJs???? The mirrors can be fixed with 2005' CBR1000 mirrors. less elbow to look around. Post up your issues after searching the site first...
The glass is not half full, it was engineered with a 2X safety factor.

Be careful dude, bearing the weight of the Red Power Ranger can be tough... It all started when the leather pants were on an extreme discount, the rest is history.....

Nice looking bike, I was just saying, I didnt think I would like my mirror mounted like that, I then saw you posted about the stock mirrors, I guess great minds think alike :wacko3:

It's not the worst place for the mirrors, takes a little getting used to. The real problem was that the left one wasn't tightened down and kept folding at speed. Being used to two mirrors, that really bugged me.

Good looking machine. You will get along just fine ! I see the plastic has some character. Are you wondering about fixing cracks or breaks or just surface stuff ? The plastic parts are ABS and you would be surprised what can be fixed.

Invest in some new tires and treble your enjoyment. I like the Avon azaros on the 16inch rims.
Of all the many mods, tire tech advancement was my number one priority.
Get 5 to 6 k out of those hoops then think about 17inch rims for next year.
Then the mod thing can kick in if the bikes for you.

Great looking bike.  :drinks: You will need bar end weights when you get the stock mirrors installed. I highly recommend ordering a set of Bar End Vibranators from RPM. Will reduce handle bar vibes much better than stock Bar ends.

The big thing, I suppose, is the left inner panel, where the choke knob is. The fairing has a crack on the edge, but this panel is broken through. I checked ebay, there is one on there for $180, which I'm not ready to pay.  The surface stuff on the scoops can probably be filled with something and sanded.

Broken through is still not a problem to fix if you have all or most of the pieces. There are some shops that take some very damaged ABS bike parts and make em look like new for less than the cost of new parts. And for your 86', new is no longer an option. Google "abs motorcycle repair"

Where are you located in Minnesota? I have an extra left inner panel you can have. I will also have an extra chin fairing once I get the decals for my new one. Neither piece is perfect. If I do not have to ship them to you, they are yours for nothing.
