Anyone (Aussie`s particularly) been following the "Tour de Cure" on Channel 7`s Sunrise program? I had heard the Snowy`s in Summer was Beautiful - but now realise I had no idea just how magnificent the area is.  :good:
Apparently the tour goes through Adaminiby this weekend.- Can`t wait to see more video, though haven`t found you tube footage yet - only what I seen on TV this morning - Simply Sensational!  :good2:

Doug...... yeah, if the Snowy's are as good as the Victorian high country, its going to be a beaut next year..... my vote is for Victoria the year after..... I rode over Mt Hotham and Falls Creek last month on my way home from Melbourne....... scenery and curves - you got em in Spades on the Alpine run.

See you tomorrow.....I will give you a bell this evening.

Cheers mate

FJZ1 1200 - It'll do me just fine.
Timing has much to do with the success of a rain dance.

It's better in Spring and Autumn!

I just got back tonight from 4 days of it.

Followed the Snowy River from Buchan in Victoria to Jindabyne in NSW on The Snowy River Road / Barry Way ( think goat track ) then through Thredbo, the length of the Alpine Way, up to and along the Murray for a while then back over all the mountains, Falls, Hotham, Buffalo etc.

Perfect weather, no traffic, any speed.

Every State has it's good and great roads but NOWHERE has an area like Victoria's High Country.

I rode from 8.00 am till after dark every day for 4 days without backtracking once and earmarked a dozen new roads for the next trip (Spring)

It is between tourist season and snow season and the roads are eerily empty, all of them.

Only in the afternoon of the last day as I approached Melbourne did I even bother to start checking my speed regularly again.

That's a great ride Harvey, particularly the North side of Falls down to Mt Beauty.

Did you pass, stay or eat at the Blue Duck Inn at Anglers Rest?

:gamer:  Hey guys, did anyone listen to my fav show this morning? (Macca on Sunday-ABC radio). A lady rang up from Adaminiby and reported it was minus 10 degrees at her place taday, as she got dressed ta drive to Cooma 1 hour away for work. MINUS 10 BLOODY DEGREES! She also recommended Macca stay at the local pub (Sounded something like "Tha Screw Loose" Hotel). I reckon every prospective tourist should tune into that show regularly to learn our lingo before visiting Aus. - More compulsory than Vegiemite on toast IMHO. ....mmmm.. "The Screw Loose Hotel"....Who would wanna stay there? ...Certainly not in Autumn!  (popcorn)

I think she was pulling his leg. It hasn't been anywhere near that cold there in the past week nor is forecast to be. Lowest o/n temps have been in the low single digits. ( and that would most likely be the "Snow Goose Hotel")

A lap through there had been plan B if the Barry Way was impassible.

I made a real effort to take some this time. I thought they might whet the appetite of some for the Snowy Rally.

I posted them about midnight last night and they were gone again by mid afternoon today without making it to the Trip & Travel section.

I probably should have posted them at a time those most interested would see them.

Damn, I'll have to go for another ride.

Noel,

I did enjoy the pictures and was amused by the one of your FJ with luggage on the back, I think that's more stuff than I own
