Foot Peg Mod

With the FJ's head at RPM getting Randy's magical touches put on it, I decided to work on a foot peg mod.

I have made a foot peg mod out of 2 sets of pegs. The end result looks to be about a half inch lower and an inch forward than stock with maybe a pound in weight reduction.
I used 2 sets to make 1.
Set 1) 91'-96' FZR1000
        90'-96 FZR600

Set 2) GSXR750 (year unknown)

The FZR part I used was the piece that goes into the stock foot peg base. The GSXR750 parts are the little dog bone and peg.

This is the end result.

The head is at the machinist now. I am hoping somewhere near the 17th of May. Randy said that he has NEVER seen valves as bad as mine.. :shok: Gives me some time to do a few more things to the bike. Pull the oil sump and clean any sludge that has accumulated, I have changed the oil twice in the last year and see a lot of sludge in the bottom of my oil collecting pan. Install the 18 tooth counter sprocket, rivet my chain, install a new rear brake lever.

Here are some photos Randy sent me of my valves.

Mine probably look about the same. My valve stem seals are shot. When I had the headers off I could peak up in the head and see an exhaust valve or two and they were carbon / fresh oily looking. I know what you are saying about fixing stuff up while you wait.... "Idle minds" and all  :yahoo: Been there recently....  :rofl2:
keep up the good work.
