After dropping the bike off at the Mechanic shop in Feb. This is the status of my Head rebuild. 2 months and the head is off the bike. The head had been sent to a machine shop to get the valve work done. Sat for a month and nothing has been done. I retrieved the head and the bike. The head will be sent to RPM for the rebuild. Big lesson learned.

The head setting on MY workbench waiting to be boxed up for it's trip to RPM

The new RPM fork brace installed

The 88' FZR750R front wheel installed

Unfortunately, you "kneed" to know that RPM Randy might be laid up for a little while...

Fred,

Remove the intake manifolds and all of the hardware. Also if you can remove the small 6mm studs from the head surface before shipping that will prevent them from being broken off.

I do not need the exhaust nuts either.

Sorry to hear about the wasted time... There is no excuse for that. The head work is my next big expense. Next winter...... I want to ride it this summer not stumble over it the garage everyday. I will just tell everyone it is "oil injected"  :wacko2: :wacko2: During the summer I will start stock piling stuff.

Just stay in front of me, (not hard to do) and that way you can see where you are going. Look in your rear view mirror and look for the blue haze...  :bomb:
How did those emulators work ? Next week I might be able to get mine out for a quick trip around the block...

Received the rebuilt head today from Randy. All fresh and clean. I dropped the head and the bike off at the shop. There is a very thin chance that it will be ready to ride tomorrow, but there is hope. Tuesday or Wednesday is more realistic. Big thanks to Randy  :good: for taking on this job while recovering from surgery.

The head does look very impressive. :yahoo:

UPS usually delivers to my house near 6PM. I was so excited that the head showed up as early in the day as it did I about wee'd myself . In my haste to get the head and the bike to the mechanic shop before I had to head off to work. I did not take any photos. I will be posting photos here of the completed project.
