Spring maintenance to do list

Having ordered the parts, the list is:
Replace valve cover gasket and bolt grommets
Lube speedo, throttle and choke cables
Change oil
Replace fork seals (the alballs seals went in less than 6 months of constant use)
recover the seat (I have real leather, but hear vinyl is the way to go)

Not too bad, considering.

Btw, rode my freinds 79 cb750 the other day, was a fun ride, its the first dohc version i belive, but man, has nothing on the fj for, well, anything really. especially braking. If you think our breaks are cheesy, try stopping a 500lb bike, 230lb rider with a single piston brake. It was smoother tho, all around.

Good deal!

Check your valve lash with a feeler gauge while you have the valve cover off. Even if you don't have the shims or shim tool, it's still good to know if any are critically tight.

got the seat done, Valve cover gasket and bolt grommets replaced, No more weepy gasket burning oil smell!

Also failed to extract broken header bolt and snapped another one off.... ffs.
