It activated a solenoid valve on models with emissions equipment installed.

Makes a nice "switched lead" for powering accessories...

Do you have a USB port picked out yet?  I'm considering one myself - Something marine grade or weather proof perhaps.

+1 Shawn. I didn't even know this plug existed til I saw your post. Dug mine out (it was well hidden) & looking for a slick way to add a 12v socket also. Like to see how yours turns out.

Dads_Fj, I got my marine 12v socket off Amazon for about $5+ shipping. Not too bad.

Here's the dual-port USB socket I plan to use, under $5 +shipping:

Shawn, I don't have mine hooked up yet, simply because I'm trying to find the best location. The pics below show my "practice" right side inner panel, (hence the scratch marks) where the socket fit best, without getting in the way of the brake lines & what not, but the next pic shows the how tight the fit really is underneath. It's right up against the frame. ( you can see in the first pic how the frame runs underneath)

I could move it around a bit I suppose, it would look better higher, I think, but if I move it too high, it'll bump up against the ignitor box. I could also bend the tabs a bit also so as not to put too much pressure on the socket itself.

Dan, I'd sure like to see how you mounted your 12v socket.

Again, I'm using a "practice" panel, not the one I will use. This is my first attempt at positioning.

Sure, but it will not help you, as it's on my GSX-R:

Looks pretty familiar, 'cept that mine is a Powerlet socket.

If you do it on the right side, measure and drill carefully.

There's enough room there for the bottom side of the socket if you choose a shorter one and position it as shown.
