I like the color scheme.

A jet black scheme was never offered, but should have been.

The blue stripe would look pretty good with a set of blue-dot calipers up front. Aesthetic "balance", you see. Then we can chat about polishing or powdercoating the lower fork legs and rims.

Just go to skidmarx.co.uk to see the fairing.  Go to: Fairing Lowers, then Yamaha, then find FJ1200 3cv . . . I sent a picture of my bike to them when I completed the build; and it appears they used my picture for their advert.  Notice the larger letters for "Yamaha" on the lower.  The right side looked good, but the left looked horrible to due to the curves of the fairing to fit the engine case.  So I changed them out for smaller letters and put them farther up the side of the fairing.  I really did like the larger decal, but like I said, I couldn't get it to look right on the left side.  Ach well.

BTW, One thing I did do was to put Linex (spray on truck bed liner) on the leading edge of the fairing and completely covered the bottom area of the fairing.  Putting on some miles was beginning to show by the nicks in the paint job.  The Linex actually looks pretty good as well.  Kawasaki does the same sort of thing to the ZX-14.

Most of our lower fairings have the paint blown off anyway.

My recommendation is to wait for the shock from Randy. I have a penske which works awesome but was not made in such a way that it would fit properly. The reservoir line interfered with the frame. It was fixed by Penske but installing and removing a shock ten times is a pain. I have no doubt that Randy's shock will bolt on. Saving a lot of screwing around trying to make it fit......
