I haven't been around for quite awhile & I am glad that it is still really active here! I had sold my '89 FJ a few years back and I now it's mine again. It hit the pavement at the end of last summer and I am starting to round up parts so I can get her back on the road soon. I am sure I will need advice on some things so you will be seeing more of me around here!

Welcome back!

How bad is the damage? Would a set of engine guards from RPM have helped protect things? (I'm looking at a set for my `90)

As always... PICTURES!!!

Damage isn't too bad.. went down on the left side so it took the mirror, rashed the faring, cracked the cover, bent the peg, & scratched the can. Also bent the clip-on a little bit. The paint job will cost a lot more than anything else!  :good2:

Crash bars would have helped some.. at least saved the cover. The rest of it would still be in contact with the pavement.

Welcome back, I slipped in during your vacation . Doesn't sound like it's hurt to bad. Glad you got her back. If I ever decide to get another bike I think I would keep the FJ just because of my low investment and I enjoy Air, Iron and Carb technology... Self reliance and old school....

Bummer... short of installing air bags, I don't know how to prevent damage to the fairing.

I hope you (or the pilot at the time) weren't hurt badly in the incident.
