I don't know that it's any brighter, but at least I won't have to change bulbs for a long time and they draw less power.  And the modification isn't as much that I can't return it to stock.  $10.79 shipped to my door.

Thanks guys!  I love hardware stores, for a buck I scored these caps and grommet to keep the muck out.  I'll take a final pic when it's back on the bike.  If anyone buys this LED lamp be aware that the white wire is common, not black.

John,

That modification looks great and I especially appreciate the price! Where did you purchase the LED assembly, and do you have a link you can provide?

Thanks,

Zwartie

I purchased it from ebay from this seller:  http://stores.ebay.com/R-and-P-Carriages-Trailer-Sales?_trksid=p2047675.l2563

Here's the one I bought:

You might check with our own Bob Weymouth (weymouth399) as he owns and operates a trailer supply/repair business.

He might have them in stock and if we can support one of our own, that is better then an unknown vendor.

Very cool John. Do you get enough light on your license plate?

Well Pat, that was a concern I thought of - AFTER I sealed it up  :dash2:  I noticed some light reflecting down, it might be enough, if not I'll either add some LED's pointing down or add the trick license plate holder like yours.   :good2:
