Here is a question for all you FJ owners. Does anyone remember reading about a guy in Scandinavia trying to set a one year distance record on a motorcycle? He rode a 86 or 87 FJ1200. He rode approx. 250,000 k's in one year. I read about this (obviously) years ago. 86 0r 87 I beleive. The article I read listed how many tires, chains brake pads rotors etc he used over the course of the year.It also listed how many k's per day he rode etc. A chain broke at one time and did some major damage. In order to keep him on the road Yamaha gave him a whole new motor from a dealer bike and he continued on one day after the carnage. Does anyone out there remember this ? Have any other info regarding this guy? Name? Actual total distance? Anything?  My first Fj was in 87 and have been enamored with the bike ever since.

I don't think it is the same guy. Of course I cannot read the article. The guy I am talking about or at least wht I remember was only what he did in 1986 or 87.
