Good job monkey, glad to see someone does stupid stuff as much as i do. Think it's the auldtimers setting in.
I still have a standard air box in mine, does it make things a lot easier for carb removal with the pod filters?
Sean.

The pods make the carb work very easy, plus there is extra room for goodies under the seat now. The pods also allow the wonderful sound of the FJ taking in air when cracking the throttle open. It is like she is encouraging me to keep it in the Kookaloo zone. The Suppertrap pipes help with that as well.

Now that I have discovered my line routing error I will be taking a few more test rides before I swap out the carbs to gravity feed. I am thinking I will get more than the 100 miles before I get starvation issues on the FP carbs. I will post my results after I get new shoes on her and a few longer rides in. Hard to believe I could get as far as I could with the line kinked.

Thanks  :good2:
There is so much dirt in that area on my bike i don't see it. Doesn't help with a large flat rubber piece covering it all up either.

I almost forgot, it got dark, tough to take pictures...

The port is under carbs 3 and 4, a vertical fitting. The hose is about 6 inches long.

The saga continues, I took the last three carbs apart just to be safe. Murphy was fucking right!!! The last three carbs had holes in the slide diaphragms buggering the entire low cost effort I was hoping for... Frank was my hero cuz he sold me his carbs (currently on loan to me) to upgrade to GF. And Randy is my hero for pointing out that I don't have to purchase all the stuff I thought I needed. Thank you both...

Now to some humbling confessions. I took my tank off today to get the carbs off to solve my FP vs GF carb isues (100 miles etc..). I broke a cardinal rule and paid the price. When I swapped out my old carbs I had to convert it from a 2 port 10mm to a single port 6mm. I failed to pay attention to proper hose routing.

I need to fire my damn mechanic, I found this when I took my tank off today...

Sometimes I hate my mechanic, the shit I have to deal with....

If the dimwit just followed the proper fuel line routing then the kink would have been avoided.... Like this...

So my carb rebuild has taken a turn and I am swapping some parts over with a SST fastener kit and some RPM parts to convert to GF and I will be ready for the WCR....

FYI, the dimwit is me, I don't let anyone work on my FJ unless I watch.....

I might have been the drunken style Kung Foo that got me into this trouble, maybe the Monkey style can help me. Or I could just use a Monkey wrench...

Dunno if you'll run into the same issue, but I had to make the hose for the CC vent longer.  I was discovered oil all over the place and it was coming through the vent and filter.

Just a thought..

I have heard that others needed a longer hose, I have about 1K like this with no signs of oil spitting out. Thanks for the heads up though. Nothing like having a few hundred (active) FJ owners watching out for each other.
